HP Color Laser MFP 178nw

HP Color Laser MFP 178nw Price in Pakistan

When Space Is at a Premium

The HP Color Laser MFP 178nw is essentially a pared-down version of the MFP 179fnw, sans an ADF and a few other features, such as the ability to send and receive faxes. It measures 11.4 by 16 by 14.3 inches (HWD) and weighs about 28.5 pounds. That’s about 2 inches narrower and a couple of pounds lighter than its 179fnw sibling, but considerably smaller and lighter than most other entry-level color laser AIOs. The Brother MFC-L3770CDW mentioned above is, for example, a few inches bigger all the way around and weighs about 25 pounds more than the 178nw.

Standard Interfaces and Mobile Device Connectivity

Where the 178nw doesn’t skimp is in connectivity options. Standard interfaces include: Ethernet, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, connection to a single PC via USB 2.0, and Wi-Fi Direct for establishing peer-to-peer network connections between the printer and your mobile devices without either it or them being connected to a local area network (LAN). In addition to Wi-Fi Direct, other mobile connectivity features include Apple Air-Print, Google Cloud Print, Mopria, and HP Smart App, which increases functionality across platforms, especially mobile devices.

Good-Looking Text and Photos

It’s not often that I see lower-than-average quality output from an HP printer, be it laser or inkjet. But as I saw with the 179fnw, the 178nw struggled with a few of the full-page Excel and PowerPoint handouts in our suite of test documents. Some of the dark gradient fills and gradient backgrounds, for instance, showed noticeable banding, and some of the darker solid fills and backgrounds displayed prominent streaking, or areas where toner was not applied evenly.
