Processor

The HP PAVILION X360 14-EK1055TU is equipped with the Intel Core i5-1335U is a mid-range mobile CPU for thin and light laptops based on the Alder Lake architecture (Raptor Lake-U / RPL-U series). It was announced in early 2023 and offers 2  performance cores (P-cores, Golden Cove architecture) and 8 efficient cores (E-cores, Gracemont architecture). The P-cores support Hyper-Threading leading to 12 supported threads when combined with the E-cores. The clock rate ranges from 1.3 to 4.6 GHz on the performance cluster and 0.9 to 3.4 GHz on the efficient cluster. The performance of the E-cores should be similar to old Skylake cores (compare to the Core i7-6700HQ). All cores can use up to 12 MB L3 cache. The CPU supports only “Essentials” vPro management features. Compared to the P-series (28W) or H-series (45W), the 15W TDP may limit the sustained performance.

Performance

HP PAVILION X360 14-EK1055TU has a 13th Gen Intel Core i5 1335U processor which is based on the 10 nm architecture with this the 13th Gen CPUs to see an average IPC gain of 19 percent the higher IPC allows the Raptor Lake CPUs more performance at the same clock speed. The TDP of this Chip as specified by Intel is 15 watts and can go up to 55 Watts. It also has support for new faster DDR5 memory of up to  4800MHz and low-power LPDDR5 5200MHz while also supporting DDR4 memory of up to 3200MHz and low-power LPDDR4X 4267MHz. Other Key Features Include Intel Iris Xe Graphics 80EUs and support for USB 4 (40Gbps).

Silver and svelte

HP asserts that the Pavilion Plus 14 is the thinnest Pavilion ever. I can neither confirm nor deny this claim, but I can say that the system isn’t clunky by any stretch. It’s also not shockingly thin, either. Let’s call it compact and move on. It weighs a hair less than three pounds, which is a bit heavy for a 14-inch laptop. Two other 14-inch 16:10 laptops we reviewed recently are lighter. The Acer Swift 5 weighs 2.8 pounds and the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 7 is only 2.4 pounds.
